This month, the L-P School District signed a contract with Yoder Produce to remove the existing greenhouse at Loudonville High School and build a new, 48x64 modern greenhouse. This project was made possible through a $250,000 grant from Loudonville FFA Alumni & Supporters. Our organization, in total, raised over $256,151 given to the schools for this project including support from the Hugo H. & Mabel B. Young Foundation, Ashland County Community Foundation, Mohican Area Community Foundation, Loudonville-Perrysville School Foundation, and individuals and businesses.
According to the contract with Yoder Produce, the new greenhouse should be completed by May 31, 2024 and ready for the 2024-2025 school year. In total, the project is expected to cost approximately $473,000 with the remaining expenses funded by the school district. Our organization would like to thank all of our donors, the L-P School Board, and Superintendent Jen Allerding for making this project a reality.
