The L-P Schools and Loudonville FFA Alumni & Supporters hosted a ribbon cutting and open house for the newly-built academic greenhouse at Loudonville High School. The greenhouse was a multi-year effort by the Loudonville FFA Alumni & Supporters, who raised over $256,000 to help fund the construction of the building. Nearly 100 guests toured the facility during the open house.
The new greenhouse is a 64x48 straight-wall design to maximize space, featuring poured concrete floors for ADA accessibility, overhead irrigation, electric shade cloths, automated environmental controls and a large evaporative cooler to maintain a comfortable temperature even on the hottest of days. The greenhouse also features designated space for a classroom inside.
Special thanks to the Hugo & Mabel Young Foundation, Ashland County Community Foundation, Mohican Area Community Fund, Loudonville-Perrysville School Foundation, and L-P Schools for their support in this effort.
